De la Rua previously attended Corpus Christi high school and then Cardiff & Vale College in the WRU National Schools & Colleges season where his side claimed the league and cup double.
He made his senior debut competitive debut for Cardiff Rugby at the Stade Ernest-Wallon against a star-studded Toulouse side in the Investec Champions Cup against Toulouse in December 2023.
