Liam Belcher is one of many players to come through Porth Harlequins’ junior ranks, before earning a call up to the Cardiff academy.
The hooker displayed his natural leadership skills early on, and was appointed captain of the club’s under-18s squad.
Capped for Wales at under-20s level, Belcher was selected for the Junior World Championships in Italy in 2015.
Belcher made his senior debut in November 2014 in the LV=Cup victory over Scarlets and later that season also appeared in the epic win over Wasps in the same competition.
While he spent 2017/18 at Dragons, Belcher returned to his home club a season later, making his league debut against Toyota Cheetahs, and also played a crucial role for Cardiff A in the inaugural Celtic Cup campaign.
The Trebanog man established himself in the senior team at Cardiff Arms Park, as he competed with the likes of Kirby Myhill and Kristian Dacey for the number two jersey.
