Women suffer narrow defeat to Dragons

Cardiff Women Under-18s suffered their first defeat of the season in the WRU Regional Age-Grade Championship with a narrow loss to Dragons at Cardiff Arms Park.

The Blue and Blacks opened up their campaign with victories over RGC Du and Ospreys but fell just short against Dragons on Sunday with a 17-22 defeat.

In an entertaining match, winger Seren Thomas opened the scoring, but Dragons hit back with three tries before Sophia Foscolo touched down to make the score 12-17 with just under 30 minutes remaining.

The visitors then added a fourth try but Cardiff hit back through Niamh Padmore to set up a nervy ending, however Dragons were able to hold on for the victory.
