Former Cardiff Blues favourite Craig Quinnell took time out of his current work schedules recently to take a no-holds barred passenger ride in a Wales Rally GB car at the Walters Arena in Neath, as part of the build up to the event which comes to south Wales on 1-3 December 2006.
Craig, who was joined by Simon Emms from Northampton Saints, said:
"I really enjoy my driving and the opportunity to come for a spin in a rally car was not one I wanted to pass up. The driver James Wozencroft took me round the track in a fully branded Suzuki. I think he was going for a record time - he certainly knew how to handle the car and the course - just a shame his brakes weren't working!"
At this year's event there will be the largest number of Rally entrants for five years making Decembers event the most popular in the 2006 FIA World Rally Championship calendar. Not only are entries endorsing the popularity of the event but ticket sales too.
The four-day World Rally Pass which sold out last year - is again proving very popular, as are Saturday Day passes. There is also an increase in advance tickets sales for Cardiffs Millennium Stadium stage, on Saturday 2nd December. This will be enhanced by the MPH Rally Special hosted by Fifth Gear TV presenters, Vicki Butler-Henderson and Tiff Needell.
All tickets can be purchased by calling 0870 060 1764, via the official website; www.walesrallygb.com or in person from the CIA Box Office in Cardiff.
