Hooker Rhys Thomas and teenage wing prodigy Chris Czekaj are among an eight-strong Cardiff and Blues contingent selected for the forthcoming Wales tour to North America.
Nineteen-year-old Czekaj is a product of the Cardiff schools and youth system and has shone for the Cardiff club side in the Premier Division this season. He scored 13 tries in 18 appearances as well as impressing with his try-scoring ability for the grand slam winning Wales under-21 team. He was given two run-outs with the Blues at the end of the Celtic League season.
Hooker Rhys Thomas is also called up to a Wales squad that has three other members of the Blues pack: John Yapp, Robert Sidoli and Robin Sowden-Taylor.
Behind the scrum Rhys Williams, Craig Morgan and Nick Robinson also join Czekaj while new Blues signing Mike Phillips is expected to be first-choice for the matches against the USA Eagles (probably led by Blues' no 8 Kort Schubert) and Canada.
The players are expected to fly out to North America immediately after the Blues Heineken Cup play-off match in Italy on 29 May.
