The Cardiff Blues team to play Gloucester in this weekend's Heineken Cup match has been delayed 24 hours.
Wednesday's training session has been called off to allow several players in the squad an extra day to recover from injuries and illness before the final fitness tests are made.
Coach David Young said, "It's been a difficult week so far. We have problems in certain positions, including scrum-half, and on top of injuries we knew about over the weekend other players had niggling injuries on Monday and Tuesday. To cap it all a couple of players also have gone down ill and were unable to train on Tuesday. I had intended to pick and announce the team on Wednesday lunchtime but that is totally impractical now. We will take stock of the situation on Thursday morning and then work with what we've got."
