We caught up with Tal Selley ahead of the match against Edinburgh this Friday.
Youve been with us for a few months now, how are you enjoying life with the Blues?
Im really enjoying it. Its been a good move for me as Im playing a lot more rugby and a lot more regularly. Ive played in the centre and on the wing throughout my career, so Im happy with the move. Ive played most of my rugby at the centre and prefer playing there, but its a case of being happy to play anywhere as long as Im getting on the pitch. Thats why I wanted to move - rather than sitting on the bench.
No regrets then?
I was a little bit worried about coming here, as it was another move for me, but the boys have made me feel really welcome. Ive known a lot of them from age grade rugby and sevens tournaments, so no regrets at all.
You mentioned the sevens, is that a game you enjoy?
I love playing sevens, at the end of the day youre playing for your country against top class competition and have trips around the world as well. I find that Im quite suited to that game, its a bit more open which suites my style of play.
In sevens you visit a lot of places you wouldnt in the 15 man game, wheres the most interesting place youve been to?
Everywhere we go, we train hard but they do try to show us a bit of the culture and sights in those countries which is nice. Players get to visit Hong Kong, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand but Id have to say Dubai is the most unusual place Ive visited.
Have you given any thought of what you will do after your playing days are over?
I gained a Computer Engineering Degree from Swansea University which I hope I can fall back on after my rugby career end. It was a challenge but something that I enjoyed and something Id like to pursue in the future.
