With 10 days remaining until the start of the new Guinness PRO14 season, Cardiff Blues have already surpassed last year’s Season Membership total.
Following the success of last season, which culminated in winning the European Challenge Cup, supporters have been snapping up membership packages at Cardiff Arms Park.
A surge in sales is expected in the coming days with PRO14 and European Champions Cup winners Leinster the first visitors to the Welsh capital on August 31.
Cardiff Blues chief executive Richard Holland said: “With the success of Bilbao we have naturally seen an upturn in not only our commercial numbers but our season membership sales. It is great to have exceeded both last season’s final number and our target already.
“Our administration team have done a brilliant job and we are still hoping to add a couple of hundred more memberships between now and the big kick-off against Leinster on August 31.
“We are hoping for a bumper crowd for what is an immensely exciting opening encounter and match ticket sales have been really encouraging on top of the membership sales.
“It promises to be a superb occasion and we are also putting plans in place to pay tribute to Sam Warburton following his retirement. So hopefully it will be a packed house to drive the team to victory against the reigning champions and thank Sam.”
With the South Terrace now divided into East (clubhouse) and West (Taff) sections, supporters are encouraged to secure their memberships as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
