Scott Morgan is one of six Cardiff Blues players to be selected in Wales tour squad to face Australia this summer.
Speaking at the Arms Park this afternoon ahead of the crucial Blues versus Dragons match on Tuesday night, Morgan was naturally excited to be included in the squad.
Im absolutely delighted to going on the tour to Australia. It was a frustrating time for me during the six nations but hopefully now I can show what I can do and put myself in contention for the World Cup Squad. I think all the squad will work together but its up to me to show Gareth Jenkins and Robin McBryde what Im capable of.
Ive been really pleased with my form this year, its probably been the most consistent season of my career. I think the quality of the players I have around me at the Blues certainly helps and its been a real pleasure and really enjoyable to play in the side.
Looking ahead to the match against the Newport Gwent Dragons, Morgan knows that they must win the match if they are to continue their challenge for the league title.
We know its a big game tomorrow night. Weve sort of sneaked up on people and have gone about our work quietly but now were in the limelight a little more. We just have to focus on the job we have in hand. Well look at the Dragons game first, its a bit of a cliché but thats all we can do. We know if we lose one game we are out of the title race so we cant afford to have any slip ups.
Other Cardiff Blues players selected for the tour are Chris Czekaj, Jamie Robinson, Mike Phillips in the backs. In the forwards Morgan is joined by Rob Sidoli and Robin Sowden Taylor. It is an amazing comeback for Sowden-Taylor who has recovered remarkably well from a horrific ankle injury last September.
Four Cardiff Blues players Tom Shanklin, T Rhys Thomas, Gethin Jenkins and Martyn Williams, will be staying at home for the WRU summer training camp in preparation for the RWC.
