S4C tribute to former Cardiff Blues star Lomu

8th March 2016

The sporting world paid tribute to a rugby union great last November following the untimely death of former Cardiff Blues star and All Blacks giant Jonah Lomu, aged just 40.

This week on S4C, a BBC Wales produced documentary, will look at the life and career of the New Zealand winger.

Featuring rare interviews with Jonah's mother and brother, Hepi and John Lomu, as well as ex-All Blacks' coaches John Hart and Sir Graham Henry, Jonah Lomu: Cawr y Crysau Duon will be shown on Tuesday 8 March.

Among the other contributors to the documentary are Phil Kingsley Jones, Jonathan Davies, Gwyn Jones, Sir Gareth Edwards, Ieuan Evans and Clive Rowlands.

In 2005, Lomu signed for the Cardiff Blues and went on to play 10 times for the region. Although his illness reduced his playing time towards the end of his career, Lomu made a big impression on Cardiff Blues' supporters and players alike at the Arms Park.
