With the Covid-19 outbreak bringing a stop to all sporting events for the time, Cardiff Blues’ official mouth guard partners, Opro, have switched their services to assist the NHS in their fight to combat the coronavirus.
Opro currently work alongside a number of rugby clubs and unions, including Cardiff Blues, England Rugby, Australia Rugby and the British and Irish Lions, as well as establishments in hockey, basketball, boxing and mixed martial arts.
However, following the Covid-19 outbreak, they have been working alongside partners Photocentric to print thousands of protective face shield on a daily basis, which are supplied to protect the front-line medical staff who are working tirelessly.
Over the past year, they have introduced revolutionary technology into their production process, with cutting edge 3D printers, which has made this project possible, with approximately 20,000 face shields being printed every day.
With a global high demand for face shields at the moment, Opro have provided an invaluable service as they aim the help the NHS to save lives.
