Rugby legend Gareth Edwards officially opened a new £1.5m manufacturing, showroom and distribution facility in Johnstown yesterday (2nd March) for Nolan uPVC, the successful Carmarthen-based manufacturer and installer of windows, doors and conservatories.
Crowds of locals turned out to see the seven-times Five Nations winner cut the official ribbon and let off balloons.
Gareth Edwards was joined by officials from Carmarthenshire County Council and the local business community, plus current Welsh rugby stars Robert Sidoli and Jamie Robinson who signed mini-rugby balls and entertained the crowds with a rugby skills workshop throughout the day. The official opening was just part of a Very Welsh Weekend organised by Nolan uPVC to celebrate its new Johnstown site.
St Davids Day activities included gardening demonstrations by S4C presenter Helen Scutt, music from harpist Carys Ann Evans, a series of stunning performances by the Carmarthen Youth Opera and free welsh cakes.

Im also delighted to announce that over the course of the weekend we raised £735 for the Ty Bryngwyn Hospice in Llanelli.
