The regional under 18s will take centre stage once again on Wednesday evening when the first two in a series of development games are staged.
The new look Cardiff Blues U18 entertain the Scarlets at Llanharan RFC, in the WRU U18 development competition, kick-off 7:15pm.
Blues coaches Jason Lewis, John Bryant and Nick Rose have selected 12 new faces in the 22 man squad and are looking forward to the clash. The Blues U18 have lost twice to the Scarlets this season in close encounters (33-30) and (17-24) which effectively ended hopes of reaching the Championship final on January 7th.
More than 50 players from the four welsh regions are away on international duty, so the games will provide an opportunity for a whole host of fringe squad members to impress.
The Blues entertain the Scarlets at the Dairy Field with regional high performance manager Gafyn Cooper delighted that no fewer than 12 new faces will get a run out for the region.
"We have 14 players away with the under 18s and under 19s, so this gives a chance to those players who missed out on a place in the squad at the beginning of the season."
