More than 250 children from across the Cardiff Blues region attended clubs day at the Arms Park on Saturday and they were treated to a 10-try thriller!

While the Blues slipped to an agonising four-point defeat to Glasgow Warriors, supporters were treated to a feast of running rugby with both sides displaying their devastating attacking prowess.

Mini and junior clubs from the length and breadth of the region descended on the Arms Park and paraded around the pitch at half-time.

There was also a coaches’ race during the interval, with Ystrad Rhondda Under-9s coach Gavin, beating the competition to claim a bag of Gilbert balls kindly donated by the globally renowned ball supplier.

Cardiff Blues Community Foundation director, Nadine Griffiths said: “Our regional clubs day is a firm favourite in our calendar and it was great to see so many clubs and children make it to the Arms Park on Saturday night.

“Whether from Rumney or Rhiwbina just down the road or Ystrad Rhondda and Tonyrefail in the north, aspiring players were given the chance to watch their heroes and parade on the pitch

“We also had members of our ICC in attendance as flag bearers and it was great to see all the children enjoying themselves and being treated to a thrilling encounter.

“It is so important to us as a Community Foundation and Cardiff Blues generally to engage with clubs throughout our region and this is yet another example of that.

“We also have rugby camps coming up at the Arms Park, Penarth and Tonyrefail Community School during half-term and there’s just a week left for clubs to claim their free tickets for Judgement Day.”

Cardiff Blues Rugby camps take place next week across Cardiff, Penarth and Tonyrefail with limited places still available. To book please click here.
