Cardiff Rugby have added another talented youngster to its senior academy group for the 2025/26 season with the signing of 18-year-old wing Joseff Jones.
Jones has represented the pathway at every level and played for Wales Under 18s last season. He is another Cardiff Harlequins product and the former Ysgol Treganna and Ysgol Plasmawr student is currently finishing his A-levels at Ysgol Glantaf.
Llywarch Ap Myrddin, head of rugby at Glantaf, said: “Joseff’s journey is a testament to the strong partnership between Ysgol Glantaf and Cardiff Rugby.
“Over the past two years, he has flourished, showing significant growth both on the rugby field and in his academic studies.
“He recognised the areas he needed to develop and worked tirelessly to improve his game and has enjoyed two outstanding seasons in the Schools and Colleges League.
“As a school, we are immensely proud of Joseff, who has been part of a strong contingent of Ysgol Glantaf pupils excelling within the Cardiff Rugby pathway.
“His development is a testament not only to his own dedication but also to the close and highly effective partnership between Ysgol Glantaf and Cardiff Rugby.”
Academy manager, Gruff Rees added: “We have known and worked with Joseff for quite a while and his finishing is excellent whilst he is incredibly coachable and will develop considerably in our environment full time and playing at SRC level.
“We are really developing depth across positions in our pathway as we prepare for the next few years and Joseff’s ability and character will add to that in abundance.”
