Interview l Cardiff prop Corey Domachowski believes his time away with Wales has had a positive impact on his career and helped him feel more confident.
The 27-year-old was a key part in Wales’ quarter-final run is but is now focused on bringing success to the Club and using his experience to help his teammates.
“I've taken a step forward in my career,” said Domachowski. “I’ve got more of a voice in the sense of I can ask questions to players, coaches and try to bring the best out of everyone, not just myself.
“I feel like that since I've come away from Welsh camp, I've had a taste of obviously that side of things and you want more, so you have a feeling of what it's like up there.
“Obviously now my focus is bringing it back to Cardiff, bringing what I learned up there, trying to feed it down to the younger boys coming through and obviously even the experienced boys here as well, trying to help everyone to get better and improve as a team.”
The Blue and Blacks have only one win in the BKT United Rugby Championship so far this season, but have been within a score in each game.
Although frustrated by the results, Domachowski is enjoying the camaraderie within the squad and targeting a victory against the DHL Stormers on Friday night.
“We've been in every game so far, but only got the one win.
“There's obviously things we know we need to work on and that's obviously the main one being closing games out and bringing something to actually finish the game off again and getting the results.
“One thing I'd say since coming back that's been really good is like the environment is good. Everyone's happy, training's been good, but unfortunately the results haven't gone our way so far.
“But we know we can't dwell on it. At the end of the day, if you dwell on it, it's just going to be five, six, or seven games on a bounce that you're losing. So we need to put a performance out on the weekend.”
