This afternoon’s Magners League fixture at Cardiff City Stadium between Cardiff Blues and Glasgow is set to go ahead (kick off 1.30pm).
Despite snow falling in South Wales yesterday and low temperatures for this time of year, this afternoon’s fixture does not appear to be in any jeopardy of postponement.
The covers were put on to the pitch earlier in the week, to protect the surface, and they have done their job in preserving the playing field from the elements.
The grounds staff are clearing away the last of the snow, and although some walkways are still covered in patchy snow or a little icy, fans are encouraged to come down to the Stadium to see the match as the Blues aim to close the gap on league leaders Munster.
A free bus service is in operation from Cardiff city centre, picking up from outside Burger King on Westgate Street and Wood Street and dropping off behind the Ninian Stand at Cardiff City Stadium. The return service departs the stadium from the same location returning to the city centre for fans wishing see both games.
