Wales’ Capital Region have been boosted by experience for the derby encounter, with Macauley Cook returning to captain the side, while Kirby Myhill is also included at hooker.
A total of 11 changes have been made from the defeat to Connacht Eagles last week, with academy centres Max Llewellyn and Ben Thomas combining in midfield, reuniting following a successful campaign in Cardiff RFC colours last season.
Jamie Hill, who travelled to South Africa with the senior side last week, is reintroduced at scrum half while 17-year-old Mason Grady returns to the wing, having featured on the bench against the Eagles.
Cardiff Blues academy full back, Ioan Davies, and Merthyr’s Sam Jones are the only ones amongst the backline to retain their starting spots.
Myhill is part of a new-look front row alongside Wales under-20 prop, Ben Warren, and Cardiff’s Lewis Francis, who made a try scoring cameo against Connacht.
Skipper Cook links up with youngster Teddy Williams in the second row, as James Botham and Tim Grey return to the back row alongside Aled Ward of Cardiff Met.
Joint head coach Gethin Jenkins said: “We’re finishing this competition at home against another Welsh region, and as a group we’ve spoken about wanting to wrap up on a positive note.
“Some of the combinations we have out there this week is really exciting and it’s another opportunity to have a good look at some of the boys who have come into the set-up.
“Scarlets have been going well in this competition, and will be a tough test, but that’s an opportunity for these boys, especially those already in the system, to step up and have a real go in front of home support."
Lock James Ratti makes a return to the bench, having featured for Cardiff RFC in recent weeks, while Merthyr prop Chris Phillips is set to make his first appearance of the campaign as a replacement.
