Evan Lloyd is the latest new Wales squad member to agree a new long-term deal with Cardiff Rugby.
The recently converted hooker was a surprise inclusion in the Wales Six Nations squad, owing to his size, explosive power and ball-playing ability as a former number eight.
And he has followed on from his uncapped Cardiff teammates Alex Mann, Mackenzie Martin and Cam Winnett by committing his future to the Blue and Blacks.
Cardiff Rugby head coach Matt Sherratt, said: “We’re really happy to have re-signed Evan, who we believe has a big future in the game.
“He hasn’t been playing hooker for long but every time he has played for us this season he has made an impact.
“You can see he has something a bit special for the position in terms of his ability with the ball and his fundamentals are continually improving.
“It was great to see him named in the Wales squad and I am sure he will continue his rapid progression from soaking up everything in an international environment.”
Lloyd, who came through the ranks at Penarth RFC, represented Cardiff at Under-16 and Under-18 level, as well as Wales Under-20s as a number eight.
He made the positional switch while in the academy and has not looked back, winning the Welsh Premiership Cup with the Rags last season and kicking on with six first team appearances since making his debut against Vodacom Bulls in November.
The 22-year-old said: “It was an easy decision to re-sign at Cardiff. I am really enjoying my exposure and development in professional rugby and I love being part of the group here. It is a squad I want to remain part of and continuing building at the Arms Park.
“I’m really grateful to all the coaches, who have put so much time and effort into helping my transition to hooker and the first-team squad. It’s a challenge I have really enjoyed and I am now striving to become a consistent figure in the starting team.
“As I said previously, I am overjoyed to be in the Wales squad and I am trying to take as much as I can from the experience. That will hopefully mean I come back to Cardiff with a lot more experience to help the team and my own development.”
