Cardiff are delighted to secure the signature of Corey Domachowski.
The loosened prop has established himself as a key figure at the Arms Park and enjoyed some stellar form in the 2022-23 season, which included crucial tries against Dragons and Sale Sharks.
He started the last five games of the season, alongside fellow Rhondda-born front-row forwards Liam Belcher and Keiron Assiratti, and was rewarded with a place in Wales’ extended World Cup training squad.
Domachowski received interest from elsewhere but has now pledged his future to the Blue and Blacks and is relishing the competition for places at the Arms Park.
He said: “It’s nice to extend my stay. Cardiff is all I’ve known at the moment and I still feel like I have some unfinished business so I’m happy.
“It makes things better when you are playing week in, week out. I didn’t get the start to the season that I wanted but the season ended in a good way.
“Both Rhys (Carré) and I both want that starting jersey but I’ve managed to keep it towards the end of the season. We are always on each other’s backs, trying to get the best out of each other. Healthy competition is good for everyone and that’s driving us on.
“It was great to finish the season on a high against the Ospreys and hopefully next season we can continue to improve as a group.”
The Gilfach Goch powerhouse made his first team debut in 2016, featured thought the club’s successful European Challenge Cup run in 2018, and has now amassed 101 appearances for his home club.
He follows fellow homegrown stars Theo Cabango, Ben Thomas and Teddy Williams in penning fresh terms with the club.
