Corey Domachowski will become Cardiff’s latest centurion as the Blue and Blacks face Connacht in the penultimate match of the BKT United Rugby Championship regular season on Saturday (KO 7.35pm).

Dai Young’s side head to Galway with all to play for in the final two rounds of action, with play-off places and the Welsh Shield remaining up for grabs.

Academy graduate Domachowski, who made his Blue and Blacks debut in 2016 as a 19-year-old, is named in an unchanged front row for the fourth consecutive match alongside Liam Belcher and Keiron Assiratti.

Lopeti Timani and Seb Davies return to the starting line-up to complete the front five, while the back row of James Botham, Thomas Young and Taulupe Faletau continue as a unit.

Having led the club for the first time in January’s European clash against Brive, Tomos Williams will captain the side at The Sportsground, pairing up with Rhys Priestland at half back.

There is just a single change in the backline, with Jason Harries replacing Josh Adams on the wing, after the British and Irish Lion suffered a knee in last week’s defeat to Benetton.

Young said: “We were disappointed to bow out of Europe against a quality Benetton side last weekend but I could not fault the boys effort or endeavour.

“There has been no time to feel sorry for ourselves as we now have a massive game in the URC and plenty to play for with the play-offs and Welsh Shield. It is going to go right down to the wire and we know we have to perform.

“We want to finish the season on a high and we will give everything we have in these last two games and see where it takes us.

“Connacht is always a difficult place to go, they are formidable on their own ground and are also looking to confirm their place in the play-offs. It is going to be a big challenge but it is one that we are excited for.”

Dillon Lewis and Harri Millard are brought into the matchday 23 and named alongside club captain Josh Turnbull on the bench.

With the race for the play-off spots still alive, five points separate Cardiff and Connacht in the table, who have three wins apiece in the last six meetings.

Cardiff will then finish the regular season against the Ospreys, who are four points adrift, on Judgement Day.
