Hooker Kristian Dacey admits it's crunch time for Cardiff Blues as they face a series of Welsh derbies over the festive period - and the dynamic front rower has called on fans to pack the terraces at BT Sport Cardiff Arms Park.
Blues kick-off the festive season on Friday night when they tackle Scarlets on home soil (kick-off 7.35pm).
Back-to-back games with Dragons then compete a busy period for Mark Hammett’s men as they launch 2015.
Dacey knows the games will have added spice and is urging fans to get right behind the team and make some noise to cheer the Blues to success.
“Scarlets is absolutely massive – but they all are really. When you play against another Welsh region it always has that added spice,” he said.
“We need to concentrate on ourselves. We haven’t had the best of performances the last couple of weeks and for ourselves we need to put a big show on and for our fans too.
“We want to draw in big crowds over the Christmas period, get the fans in and enjoying themselves. It would be great to have big support over these next two games.
“The Treviso game was one of the best performances this season and we need to kick on.
“I know we leaked a few silly tries, but that was individual or system errors. That is gone, we have the five points and now we need to push on.
“Scarlets and Dragons twice – it’s crunch time and we need to get points,” he added.
“The boys are excited and training has been great. Every year this is a special time against the other regions.
“We are ninth in the table and need to fight our way up. We need bigger performances and wins on the field.”
