Cardiff Women Under-18s got back to winning ways with a comfortable 5-24 win against Scarlets at Ysgol Cwm Brombil in the WRU Regional Age-Grade Championship.

The Blue and Blacks bounced back from their tight defeat against Dragons last week to record their third victory in four games in the competition.

Cardiff opened the scoring with an early try from scrum-half Seren Lockwood with Brooke Bevan adding the conversion, while prop Crystal James scored the visitors’ second try just before the half hour mark.

Scarlets hit back on the stroke of half-time to make the score 5-12 heading into the break.

Just two minutes after the resumption Cardiff extended their lead once again through winger Seren Thomas, and then claimed their fourth and final try late on when Crystal James crossed for her second try of the game.

Heading into the final match of the competition against RGC Piws on Sunday at Cardiff Arms Park, the Blue and Blacks are in a three way fight for the title, along with RGC Piws and Dragons.
