Cardiff v Zebre Parma postponed due to red weather warning

Cardiff Rugby can confirm their United Rugby Championship Round 12 fixture against Zebre Parma tomorrow has been postponed due to the red weather warning in place for South Wales.

The Blue and Blacks were due to take on the Italian outfit at the Arms Park, however with a severe warning due to the approaching Storm Eunice, the decision has been made to reschedule the fixture at a future date.

Alternative arrangements for the fixture this weekend were explored but were not possible due to numerous logistical challenges including Zebre’s inability to guarantee air travel arrangements.

The United Rugby Championship statement read:

“The Cardiff Rugby v Zebre Parma R12 fixture in the United Rugby Championship has been postponed due to a red weather warning and the forecast of dangerously high winds.

“The game was originally set to play tomorrow, Friday, February 18 at 19:35 UK, but a decision to reschedule this game has been made in the health and safety interests of all staff and team personnel involved.

“Additionally, due to the red weather warning affecting much of the south-east regions in the UK, Zebre Parma’s air travel could not be guaranteed while logistical and facilities challenges do not allow for the game to play on either Saturday or Sunday.

“The decision has been made in consultation with both teams and BBC Wales as the host broadcasters and the United Rugby Championship will follow up in due course with rescheduling details.”

All tickets for the fixture will remain valid for the rescheduled date and any further ticketing enquiries should be emailed to ticket.office@cardiffrugby.wales

Cardiff Arms Park, and subsequently the Cardiff Rugby offices and car park, will be closed tomorrow due to the weather warning with all staff working from home where possible.
