Cardiff Rugby would like to thank supporters for their cooperation and assistance following a medical emergency during Saturday’s BKT United Rugby Championship clash with Ulster.
Mid-way through the second-half, stewards were alerted to a collapsed supporter in the North Stand. The supporter, a member of the South Wales Ulster Rugby Supporters Club, had gone into cardiac arrest.
However, with the quick action of Ulster supporters and Cardiff Rugby staff, the patient was safely moved to allow emergency treatment. They then joined forces with St John’s Ambulance personnel and paramedics, who worked on the scene to resuscitate the supporter, who was later transported to University Hospital Wales, Cardiff.
The supporter is now undergoing further tests and hopes to return home later this week.
