City Hospice’s award-winning Forever Flowers campaign is returning to Cardiff Castle this summer for its fourth year.

Forever Flowers provides the public with the opportunity to remember and celebrate the lives of family members, friends and colleagues with unique and lasting tributes. The flowers will feature in a striking display within the grounds of Cardiff Castle from Saturday 3 August to Sunday 11 August.

This year’s choice of flower is a ‘Remember Me Rose’ which symbolises love, affection and respect. The colour also pays tribute to the charity which is marking its ruby anniversary this year.

Four local businesses are supporting the campaign: Cardiff Rugby, Eversheds Sutherland, Harlequin Print Group, and Premier Forest Products.

Cardiff Rugby has supported the campaign since its inception and will be supporting Forever Flowers for the fourth consecutive year. The team is passionate about making a positive impact in its local community and takes an active approach to supporting charity initiatives and worthy causes.

Mike Brown, Head of Communications and Marketing at Cardiff Rugby, said: “Having supported the campaign since its launch in 2021, we are delighted to continue our support, especially during the charity’s 40th anniversary.

“The hospice provides such an uplifting and inspirational environment to help patients live life to the fullest with the utmost care, compassion, and professionalism to so many families within Cardiff. Forever Flowers provides the community with an opportunity to cherish the memories of loved ones and we look forward to seeing the roses bloom at Cardiff Castle this year.”

The firm is a global top 10 law practice and provides legal advice and solutions to an international client base, which includes some of the world’s largest multinational corporations, from its 70 offices around the world including Cardiff.

Matthew Gough, Partner at Eversheds Sutherland LLP, said: “It is now our fourth year of supporting City Hospice’s Forever Flowers campaign. We are delighted again to be involved with such a novel and rewarding initiative.

“We have seen Forever Flowers go from strength to strength during this time and we appreciate its connection with Cardiff Castle, a most historic landmark. We particularly enjoy our day at the Castle, meeting our fellow supporters and the hospice’s amazing volunteers. Long may Forever Flowers continue!”

Harlequin Print Group, a supplier of printing and packaging services based in Pontyclun, is supporting Forever Flowers for a third year in memory of their loved ones. The company specialises in large format printing, sustainable packaging solutions and sports and events branding.

Steve and Booie Sall, Directors of Harlequin Printing & Packaging, said: “In memory of our eldest brother and our mother, we are honoured to be supporting a great cause that celebrates life and also brings the community together. The display in Cardiff Castle is always set out in such a way that families are able to come and spend time and reflect on their loved ones.”

The business’ CEO Terry Edgell is a business ambassador for City Hospice and a passionate supporter of the charity’s work.

Terry Edgell, CEO of Premier Forest and a business ambassador for City Hospice, said: “Forever Flowers offers a beautiful way to unite and honour the lives of our loved ones who have passed away.

“It provides a chance to share our grief and support each other through challenging times. Having bought the first three flowers in the campaign, they bring a smile to my face; it’s a unique way to keep memories alive. Premier Forest is thrilled to once again support this year’s campaign and look forward to seeing a field of roses flourish across Cardiff Castle.”
