Cardiff Rugby can today provide an injury update as the squad depth is being increasingly tested.

Theo Cabango has unfortunately suffered a set-back in his recovery from hamstring surgery and has been ruled out for the remainder of the season. The wing, who first suffered the injury in June, had been progressing well but re-injured the hamstring in the end stage of his rehabilitation. He is awaiting further specialist consultation.

Taulupe Faletau, Corey Domachowski and Thomas Young were all forced to withdraw from the team to face Perpignan last week. It is hoped that Young will be available this weekend, while Domachowski and Faletau continue to be assessed.

Meanwhile, Aled Davies, Tinus de Beer and Regan Grace picked up injuries in the European Challenge Cup defeat to Perpignan. Davies and De Beer are awaiting consultation following scans, while Grace has begun his return to play protocols following concussion.

Short-term:

Josh Adams: The Wales wing is currently managing a minor groin injury and is expected to return to play in the coming weeks.

James Botham: Botham is being treated for a minor neck injury and is expected to return to play in the coming weeks.

Taulupe Faletau has suffered a minor knee injury and is expected to return to play in the next few weeks.

Mid to long-term.

Corey Domachowski is being treated for a minor neck injury and his recovery is being monitored

Liam Belcher: The club captain sustained a calf tear in the club’s victory over Toyota Cheetahs last month. Belcher faces a further few weeks of rehabilitation aiming to be back available in late February/March.

Gwilym Bradley: Flanker Bradley, suffered a shoulder injury while representing Cardiff RFC earlier this season. He continues his recovery and is targeting a return to training in March.

Ed Byrne: Byrne is another player making good progress following the injury he suffered last year. The Ireland international is aiming to be back available in March.

Ben Donnell: The versatile forward dislocated his elbow against the Dragons at the end of November and continues his rehabilitation. Donnell is also targeting a March return.

Mason Grady: The Wales international is processing through his rehabilitation following ankle surgery well and targeting a return to availability late February/March.

Harri Millard: Millard suffered an MCL injury against Lyon in December and is scheduled to be back available for selection in February.

Iwan Stephens: The wing is continuing his rehabilitation following ACL surgery  and is aiming to return to action next season.
