Cardiff Rugby are back in Blue & Black

First Team News | 3rd September 2021

Cardiff Rugby have today launch three eye-catching blue and black jerseys for the 2021-22 season.

The jerseys, which all feature varying degrees of the traditional blue and black will be available in store on Westgate Street from tomorrow morning and will be available online imminently.

Modelled by star trio Rey Lee-Lo, Rhys Priestland and Ellis Jenkins, the three kits are the first produced by Macron - the hero company and technical sport partner - since the club looked back to move forwards with a return to Cardiff Rugby.

The home kit is predominantly blue with black detailing and is once again emblazoned with the logo of Principal Partner the MSS Group.

The back of the neck is personalised with the club's new logo, while detailing from the logo creates a backdrop to this. The sweatband tape inside the collar is adorned with the club’s motto in Welsh and English: Nerth Trwy Undod – Strenght Through Unity.

On the front, the Italian brand's Macron Hero logo appears in sublimation print on the right breast, with the Cardiff Rugby crest on the left, over the heart. The Welsh flag is printed on the rear of the collar.

One of the distinguishing features of the new kit is the embossed graphic of sleek, tone-on-tone diagonal lines on the front, covering the three large horizontal stripes.

The away jersey is a reversal of the home kit but features the club’s Welsh logo on the left breast and again features tone-on-tone lines in a nod to the club’s traditional hoops.

Following the successful return to the Cardiff Rugby brand, and world famous blue and black colour scheme, a special third jersey has also been added.

This striped jersey embraces the rich heritage of Cardiff Rugby with a modern vibe and also boasts added texture detailing within the stripes.

Further recognition of the club’s 145-year history is depicted with a skull and cross bones emblem - from the first Cardiff jersey in 1876 - embossed on the back.

The shirts are in Body fit, while the fabrics used are Armevo and Bodytex, which guarantee lightness, breathability and maximum strength.

Valued partners Land Rover, Hugh James, LexisNexis Risk Solutions, Cardiff University, Indigo Group and High Motive all remain on the jerseys.
