Cardiff Blues are thrilled to reveal Uber Eats as a new Official Partner in a major deal for the Arms Park outfit.
Following a succession of high profile commercial announcements, the leading food delivery app is the latest to get behind the Blues as the 2020-21 season continues.
Uber Eats is Cardiff's biggest food delivery platform, and its local team has supported Cardiff's independent restaurants, bars and cafes as they pivoted to delivery service during lockdown.
The Uber Eats logo will make its debut on the back of Cardiff Blues’ shorts this evening in the Guinness PRO14 clash with Connacht at Rodney Parade, with a host of exciting campaigns planned for the season ahead.
Cardiff Blues chief operating officer Rhys Blumberg said: “We are overjoyed to welcome Uber Eats to our Cardiff Blues Family and cannot wait to start working with them.
“They are an exciting, innovative and expanding global brand in what is a very competitive market. We are looking forward to helping them strengthen their presence throughout the Cardiff Capital Region.
“There are a lot of similarities between our brands and we share similar values. By working together we will be able to maximise their exposure while utilising their outstanding service to enhance our fan engagement and match-day experience both with and without crowds.”
Uber Eats has a considerable presence across South Wales, delivering delicious food from more than 200 businesses in Cardiff alone. The app’s Cardiff team - set up last year - are all huge fans of rugby and delighted to see the partnership come to life.
Toussaint Wattinne, General Manager Uber Eats UK, said: “Cardiff is one of the UK’s most impressive places to eat, with a huge variety of outstanding independent restaurants. We needed a local partner who could match our passion for Cardiff celebrating everything that makes it so special, so we couldn’t be more excited to partner with Cardiff Blues.”
