Following Saturday’s huge effort to get the pitch ready Cardiff Blues would like to thank all those who helped to ensure the game could go ahead

Saturday saw Cardiff Blues supporters put in an incredible effort to ensure that the Heineken Cup match against the Sale Sharks could go ahead. Many supporters braved the conditions and walked miles to the ground to help Cardiff Blues staff move the snow from the pitch. It was back breaking work and Cardiff Blues would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped out.

We are fortunate here at the Blues to have great partners who supported us over the weekend. Cardiff Blues Supporters’ Club helped coordinate supporters to the ground, HSS Hire provided snow shovels to dig the snow up and Ted Hopkins provided a small tractor to transport the snow off the pitch. Jenkins Suzuki and Cardiff Audi also provided vehicles to ensure the players and management could get to the ground safely. It is times like these that we realise our partners and supporters always go the extra mile for us.

Last Saturday showed the great spirit there is at the Blues and the team played their part also, notching up a 26-14 win in an entertaining encounter that ensured we finished our Heineken Cup campaign on a high.

It’s now back to business as usual for the Blues as we prepare for a tough month in February when we welcome three Irish sides to the Arms Park, London Irish, Leinster and Connacht will all offer a tough challenge but if we can show the kind of determination and spirit that our supporters showed on Saturday, then be can be sure of getting something from these games.
