Cardiff Blues tackled Glasgow Warriors in the Guinness PRO12 at BT Sport Cardiff Arms Park on a day to remember as we paid tribute to the Armed Forces and our respects ahead of Remembrance Sunday.
November is the time of the year when we wear a red poppy in memory of those who sacrificed their lives for us during wars.
And at the home of Cardiff Blues we showed our respects on a day of rugby and remembrance.
Serving military personnel were invited to the Guinness PRO12 game to support the special occasion and later on Saturday evening we played host to a game between the UK Armed Forces Ladies team and Cardiff Blues and Wales Women Select.
Ahead of kick-off, there was a wreath laying ceremony on the pitch from the respective captains – Gethin Jenkins Jonny Gray – as a lone bugler played the Last Post before a moment’s silence in memory of those that lost their lives.
All the players from Cardiff Blues also wore a poppy logo on their jersey as a mark of respect.
Thank you to every fan who took part in Saturday’s events as we remember the fallen.
