The Cardiff Blues can confirm they will play the Northampton Saints on Friday 29th August kick off 7.30pm at the Arms Park.
All season ticket holders have free entry to the match against the former Heineken Cup winners. Season tickets are available to purchase online at www.cardiffblues.com/seasontickets.
The Blues will welcome former All Blacks Carlos Spencer and Bruce Reihana plus their Saints' teammates to the Arms Park a week before the start of the Magners League season.
Saints Director of Coaching Jim Mallinder has strengthened his team considerably this summer as they prepare for life back in the Guinness Premiership, with new recruits including Argentine Ignacio Fernandez Lobbe (previously with Sale Sharks), Ben Broster (formerly Scarlets) and Neil Best and Ben Wilson (both formerly Ulster).
The Blues are also looking to confirm another friendly fixture. They are due to play Gloucester at Kingsholm on Friday 22 August but both clubs are looking for alterative teams to play, having been drawn in the same Heineken Cup pool.
