Head Coach Danny Wilson praised an 'outstanding' performance from man-of-the-match Tom James in the comeback 29-27 win over Scarlets in the Guinness PRO12.
James was the unfortunate player as his intercept pass saw Scarlets take an early 14-3 lead at a sell-out BT Sport Cardiff Arms Park.
However, the wing showed all his character to produce a stunning display of powerful and incisive running as he played a huge part in a try for Dan Fish with a strong break and neat offload.
And Wilson believes James must be pushing for international consideration after a strong of eye-catching performances since his return to Cardiff Blues this season from Exeter Chiefs.
“I thought Tom was simply outstanding,” said Wilson. “He showed his character in that game.
“He threw an intercept pass early in the game that would have disappointed him. But he showed what a professional and what a good player he is that he bounced back from that.
“He produced some really good rugby and he’s a real attacking threat for us with the ball.
“I would imagine he is providing a headache to the international coaches because he has played like that in several games this season.”
