The chief executive of Cardiff Blues, Robert Norster, today welcomed the decision of Llanelli Scarlets to impose a significant ban and fine on Ian Boobyer.
This decision follows an incident in the Celtic League fixture between the Blues and Scarlets at Cardiff Arms Park on 7 November 2004.
Mr Norster said,
Coaches and officials from both teams discussed at length the incident that was not witnessed by the referee and touch judges before establishing agreement on the measures now taken by the Scarlets management.
He added that the Blues team management were pleased to report that despite the head injury he received the Blues flanker Nathan Budgett will be available for selection for the next Celtic League fixture against Glasgow Rugby at the Arms Park on Saturday 13 November.
