Cardiff Blues took time out of preparations for the World Club 10s on Thursday evening as staff and players met the St David's Welsh Society of Singapore.
The Welsh Society were invited to the team hotel to spend time with the team prior to the showpiece rugby event at the new National Stadium at the Singapore Sports Hub this weekend.
Players and staff spent time with Welsh Society members and posed for pictures and signed autographs during the visit to thank them for their support during the week-long visit to Southeast Asia.
The Welsh Society in Singapore is determined to keep the Welsh heritage and culture alive for members living away from Wales. The group meets for social events, follows Welsh sporting events and celebrates St David’s Day with a ball as near as possible to March 1. For more information click HERE
Blues have been supported by President Rhiannon Gage, who has been the team liaison throughout the trip, and she was presented with a signed jersey by scrum half Lewis Jones on the night to thank her for her help and assistance.
Gafyn Cooper, Rugby Operations Manager at Cardiff Blues said: “The St David’s Welsh Society of Singapore has been very supportive of our trip here and Rhiannon has been a great addition to our tour party this week with her advice, understanding and support.
“We were delighted to invite the Welsh Society down to the team hotel to mingle with the players and staff on Thursday evening so we could discover as much as we could about them.
“Many of the Welsh Society members will be at the Singapore Sports Hub this weekend to support us and we will be doing all we can to represent Wales and our region positively in the tournament.”
