Cardiff Blues gained an eleventh win in their last dozen matches in all competitions in Treviso on Friday evening.

The Blues have won their last four home games in the Magners League, since Leinster won 29-20 at the Cardiff City Stadium on 7 March.

The Blues now face a Connacht team that has suffered just one defeat so far this season: 33-35 at Scarlets in round two. The Irishmen won their most recent away game 19-17 in Glasgow on 17 September but have not won successive away games in the Magners League since season 2004/05.

Speaking ahead of the match, David Young said,

“Connacht is always a difficult team to play against and they’ve played some great stuff this year. They’re probably only 30 seconds away form being unbeaten coming into this game, so I’m a little bit worried about this match.”

However, Connacht have beaten the Blues just twice before: in 2005 and 2009 at Galway, whilst Cardiff Blues home record against Connacht is a perfect played 7, won 7.

“We’ve got to manage and match their desire and commitment and their work rate, and if we can do that I like to think we’ve got a bit of extra quality in our squad and we can come away with a win. But fist and foremost we’ve got to match everything that they can bring to the game,” added Young.

Tickets are available for only £10 for adults and £5 for juniors and £12 for a family tickets (2 adults 2 children). To purchase tickets call 0845 345 1400 or online at www.cardiffblues.com/tickets

The team to face Connacht will be announced at 12.00pm on Wednesday.
