On Sunday, Cardiff Arms Park hosted the Blues Cup matches for the under 10's to under 12's age groups.
Clubs from all over the region were represented in the three finals with Gwernyfed who played in the U11s final having traveled the furthest to take part.
The youngest age grade final was the U10s and was contested by Rumney and Cowbridge. The trophy for this final was shared by the two teams as the game finished 14 all, with both teams equal on tries as well.
In the U11s final Gwernyfed faced Rumney, this game was not as close as the younger age grade final and Gwernyfed, possibly tired from their journey down, lost to the dominant Rumney, the same team who had won the U10s trophy the year previously. The final score in the match was Rumney 49 Gwernyfed 21.
The most senior final to be played on Sunday, the U12s, was between Rhiwbina and Cowbridge. Cowbridge unfortunately could not match the heroics of their younger club mates and went down 39-7 to the boys from Rhiwbina.
Well done to all the players involved in the 3 games, after days of sunshine they had to endure showers all day but everyone involved had a great day out and represented their clubs with great performances on the pitch.
The Blues Cup finals for the U13s and U14s age groups will be played on Tuesday 4th May.
