Last night saw a fantastic Blues Cup semi final at the Harlequins ground in Cardiff Between St Peters under 14s and favourites St Josephs under 14s.

Last night saw a fantastic Blues Cup semi final at the Harlequins ground in Cardiff Between St Peters under 14s and favourites St Josephs under 14s.

St Josephs took the game to the Rocks from the word go but spurned three clear cut scoring chances with players choosing to take the contact with clear overlaps outside. Gradually St Peters got into game and scored a try in the corner converted from the touchline. St Josephs scored a try just before half time and with the conversion hitting the post the teams turned around 7-5 to St Peters.

The second half was an outstanding affair with both sides playing running rugby. St Peters hit the post with a penalty and then scored a second try again converted from wide out to make it 14-5 to the home team, a long range drop goal made it 17-5 with 15 minutes left. With time running out, St Josephs threw everything at St Peters and scored a try with little time left, the conversion was missed. At 17-10 St Josephs new a converted try would make it a draw and send them into the final as the away side but gallant St Peters held on to beat the favourites and go the the cup final at Cardiff Arms Park on Tuesday May 4th, where they will meet either Llanishen or Beddau.

The Blues Cup Under 13s and Under 14s finals will now take place on 4th May, with the Under 10s, 11s and 12s decisive fixtures still arranged for the original date of Sunday 25th April. All finals at Cardiff Arms Park.
