Cardiff Blues’ hopes of a successful Celtic Cup run crashed at Meadowbank Stadium when they lost 16-33 to Edinburgh Rugby.

An early 10-point lead and overwhelming territorial dominance had given hope of a resounding win for the Blues. But in the closing three minutes of the first half, despite a one-man advantage, they conceded two tries and after that never regained the lead.
