The Blues went down 25-48 to the Dragons in the Celtic League, completing a black Saturday for the region and the Cardiff club after the Blue & Blacks had earlier lost 22-33 at home to Bedwas in the Premier Division.
Both teams had the benefit of early leads only to be overpowered in the second half. But the Blues salvaged something from their heavy defeat at Rodney Parade by scoring a fourth try in injury time to keep their Heineken Cup qualification target alive.
