Cardiff Blues can confirm that Ben Evans will be joining Sale Sharks at the end of this season.
Ben joined Cardiff RFC from Swansea in 2002 and has won 27 Welsh caps including a tour to South Africa with Wales in 1998.
He has been an extremely popular player with the supporters and has worked tirelessly for the numerous charitys that the Arms Park team has supported over the years.
I used to come to watch Cardiff play when I was a kid with my dad and then I went on to play for Cardiff Youth and Ive thoroughly enjoyed playing at the Arms Park over the years, said Ben Evans.
"Certain patches have been good and others bad and I think its fair to play I havent cemented my place in the side as the Blues are fortunate to have two gifted young props in Gethin Jenkins and John Yapp.
"Its time for me to move on and get away from South Wales, its a new adventure and a new start for me. Having so many Welsh boys in the camp helped me make the decision to join Sale so Im looking forward to it.
"The fans have always been great with me and Ive enjoyed doing the charity work and working with the kids as I think its important to give something back in to the game.
This season Ben has played in 13 competitive games, including 6 as a substitute.
