Thomas Young has been crowned BKT United Rugby Championship's Turnover King for the 2022/23 season.
The awarded is given to the player who has won the most turnovers during the regular season.
With a total of 17 turnovers, Young, who returned to the Arms Park last summer, was tied at the top with Vodacom Bulls' Marco van Staden, but won the deciding Jackal tie-breaker by 7-6.
It caps off an impressive return season for the homegrown star at the capital, who also crossed for nine tries during the course of the campaign and was voted the Fans' Player of the Season.
He follows in the footsteps of former Cardiff back row, Olly Robinson, who was in inaugural Turnover King in 2018/19.
James Botham was also in the mix, having achieved 14 steals during the league season.
With Munster's John Hodnett picking up the Tackle Machine and Ulster’s Tom Stewart scooping up OFX Top Try Scorer yesterday, the awards have kicked off three weeks of announcements in the build-up to the BKT URC Grand Final on Saturday May 27.
The Elite XV, Try of the Season, Next-Gen Player of the Season and Vodacom Fans’ Player of the Season will be disclosed next week.
Gilbert Golden Boot and Ironman will be awarded after the Semi-Final. While the BKT Coach of the Season and Players’ Player of the Season will be divulged in the week of the Grand Final.
