Cardiff Blues Director of Coaching, David Young, has today announced the team to play against Pontypridd at Sardis Road on Saturday at 2:30pm.
Everybody has been training hard over the summer and were all looking forward to the season to start. The pre season friendly games are always a good opportunity for us to take a closer look at some of our players and for them to get rid of some of the rustiness. Its sure to be a tough game up in Pontypridd as it always has been. David Young said.
Rhys Williams will be Captain for the game after taking over from Martyn Williams this week. I cant wait to get back on the playing field after all the training this summer. To be selected as Captain is a huge honour for me and I hope we get off to a winning start. Williams said.
There has already been a lot of interest in the game that comes eleven days after the Blues held a very successful training clinic at Sardis Road in which over 130 coaches from the region attended.
