Danny Wilson has vowed his Cardiff Blues will give Benetton Treviso the respect they deserve when they arrive at BT Sport Cardiff Arms Park - and warned his team 'we must win' to keep hopes alive of climbing the Guinness PRO12.
Wilson’s men face a Treviso side in the Welsh capital on Friday night (kick-off 7.05pm) that needs no introduction after they claimed a 13-6 win over Cardiff Blues last month at Stadio Monigo.
Boss Wilson admits the defeat out in Italy was a 'tough one to swallow' as Cardiff Blues missed several chances to claim victory.
However, back on home soil he has left his side fully aware of what he expects from the latest fixture as they defend a proud home record.
“When we went to Italy last month our first half performance wasn’t as good as it should have been, but we finished the game strongly and had plenty of opportunities to put them away,” he said.
“Treviso showed a real dogged edge in defence and it was a tough one to swallow, but at the same time it’s not an easy place to go. Going to Italy is a challenge and tougher in recent years.
“Coming to our home we must show them respect too, they pushed the Scarlets close a few games ago so we won’t underestimate them.
“They have a powerful pack of forwards and running outside backs that can cause problems off counter attack ball. We know what is coming, but it is a home game and we must win.”
