Danny Wilson is hoping to be boosted by the return of up to five first-team players for Saturday's must-win European Challenge cup clash with Bristol.
Cardiff Blues are one win away from reaching the knockout stages of the competition and must complete a double over their cross border rivals at BT Sport Cardiff Arms Park.
And following a testing period, in which as many as 18 players have been sidelined, Wilson has revealed Rhys Gill, Kristian Dacey, Nick Williams and Gareth Anscombe have all returned to fitness, while Blaine Scully is also available.
Wilson said: “We’re hoping to have a few back. Blaine (Scully) will be available, Kristian Dacey, Rhys Gill if he continues to pass the concussion protocol, and Gareth Anscombe and Nick Williams have trained fully this week.
“Up until last week we had 18 players unavailable to us so if we get four or five back it’s good timing ahead of an important home game.
“They will get into the training week and have several stages they have to pass but it’s so far so good.”
The Blues are currently second in Pool Four, one-point behind Bath, who host Section Paloise.

They could advance as group winners if Bath were to lose or as one of the best-placed runners-up.
But Wilson insists the sole focus is on Saturday and that his side cannot afford to worry about the various permutations.
He headed: “There’s still a few permutations that can play out but we have to get away from that. We need to focus on one thing and one thing only and that’s a home win. We need a home win to make the quarter-finals.
“If we win then we make a quarter-final and that’s a great achievement for us at the moment. Last season we didn’t get close to that so in this competition it’s a big improvement.
“We’ve won four out of five games and we’ve now got the opportunity to secure a quarter-final at home against Bristol.”
