We've done it! A huge thank you to all our supporters and sponsors who have helped us achieve our target and raise over £10,000 for Velindre Hospital in Cardiff - and now the players will get a close shave!
Blues announced earlier this year that club captain Matthew Rees was to have an enforced spell away from rugby as he undergoes medical treatment at Velindre.
The region has been selling ‘Smile For You Captain’ wristbands to help raise funds and awareness this month.
And now the players and staff will prove they are a cut above the rest!
The region set a fundraising target of £10,000 for Velindre and now that target has been reached after a generous donation today from John Hunt of Capital Coated Steel Cardiff.
Over 30 players and the coaching team at the Blues will now shave their heads on New Year’s Eve thanks to staff Andrew Cox Barbering in Radyr who will be on hand with the clippers!
