Josh Navidi insists Cardiff Blues must put the disappointment of a last gasp defeat to Toyota Cheetahs aside as they turn attention to a Guinness PRO14 clash with Southern Kings.
Despite a stirring comeback, which saw tries from Owen Lane, Willis Halaholo and Rey Lee-Lo, the Blues were undone by a penalty try in the eighth minute of injury time.
It was a heart-breaking way to lose, especially following the travel chaos that had dogged Wales Capital Region’s preparations but Navidi knows they must now focus on a crucial clash with the Kings.
He said: “The altitude hits you but in the first-half we didn’t perform. We didn’t play the way we normally play but in the second-half we played a bit more rugby and got points.
“We just lost in the last couple of minutes with a couple of penalties, which is disappointing and the boys are gutted but we just have to look forward to next week.
“We can keep going around in circles (on the travel problems), it was tough, it was a long travel and obviously the boys were effected and it showed in the first-half more than anything but in the second-half we got past it.
“In the first-half we were second best to the breakdown but in the second-half we blew the cobwebs off and started to play more.
“The Kings is going to be tough ask, especially with the turnaround but they are a different team at home so we know the challenge is coming and we have to dust ourselves off and move forward.”
