Undefeated Cardiff Blues will be aiming to book a place in the semi-finals of the LV=Cup as they face Leicester Tigers at BT Sport Cardiff Arms Park this afternoon (kick-off 2.30pm).
Cardiff Blues currently top Pool 2 of the LV=Cup on 13 points after victories over Newcastle Falcons, Scarlets and Wasps. Northampton Saints are chasing hard are in second place on nine points.
Only the top team in each of the four pools will make the semi-finals and Blues face a Leicester Tigers team that are also undefeated and top Pool 3 as they look to book a spot in the final four.
And coach Andi Kyriacou admits the team will be fired up to remain undefeated in the competition on Saturday.
“This is another opportunity to showcase what they can do in a top competition against some top opposition,” he said.
“Facing English Premiership opposition is always tough and I don’t think some of the players realised just how tough until we came into this competition.
“They found out at Newcastle and Wasps that you have to be on it to compete with these teams.
“Hopefully third time out we won’t give an English team a head-start – we will look forward to the game and it should be a huge fixture as both teams look to book a place in the semi-finals.”
