Cardiff Blues have been handed a boost ahead of the RaboDirect PRO12 clash with Glasgow Warriors on Saturday (kick-off 6.30pm) after Sam Warburton and Gethin Jenkins both returned to the region.
Warburton and Jenkins both started for Wales as they suffered a 26-3 defeat to Ireland in the 6 Nations in Dublin last weekend.
Both have now been released back to Blues ahead of the league clash at the Arms Park as they international duo look to get valuable game time ahead of the France international a week on Friday.
“It is good news for us that they are back because we have been struggling with injury issues,” said Director of Rugby Phil Davies.
“Prior to today we had three fit back rows in the group so to have Rory Watts-Jones coming back as well as Sam (Warburton) is a boost.
“It’s the same with the front row and we have been decimated there so to get Gethin (Jenkins) back in is great. We are thankful that Warren (Gatland) has released them and we will include them.
“I asked if they could be made available because they need game time after a lot of injuries and that has been accepted. That is great working together and it will be of benefit to us on Saturday night.”
