Cardiff have been boosted by the return of four Wales internationals for Friday’s BKT United Rugby Championship clash against Glasgow Warriors.
Teddy Williams, Mackenzie Martin and Mason Grady all go straight back into the Blue and Blacks starting XV for the trip to Scotstoun Stadium, while Seb Davies in named on the bench.
In total, Matt Sherratt has made four changes for the encounter with Ben Donnell also coming into the starting line-up at blind-side flanker, alongside in-form Thomas Young and Martin.
Williams combines with Shane Lewis-Hughes in the second-row, while the front-row is unchanged. In the backs, Mason Grady replaces Owen Lane, who is named on the bench.
Matt Sherratt said: “It’s great to get a few of the Wales boys back and they have had a really positive impact in training this week.
“The intensity and quality of the sessions have been great and we are looking forward to a big challenge this weekend against Glasgow.
“They are one of the form teams in the competition. Franco Smith has done a good job there and you can see the traits him in the team. They attack the short sides, they are good on the counter-attack, have some innovative strike plays and all of that is combined with one of the best defences in the URC.
“So like I’ve said, it is a big challenge and it is crucial that we show the same kind of character and fight that we have shown at home. We have a period of games on the road now and it is a good opportunity to test ourselves with a number of players continuing to return to availability.”
Liam Belcher continues to captain the side, which includes 17 players to have progressed through the Blue and Blacks pathway and academy.
